According to hindu mythology the valley of kashmir was created out of the efforts of kashyap rishi , for a long time it was known as kashyap – mor I e place of Kashyap later it came to be known as KASHMIR
KASHMIR stands apart for its outstanding contribution to religion, philosphy, arts, aesthetics literature and spiritual grace it offers its inhabitants.
This film depicts the saga of 3 ,50,000 Kashmri pandits who were aborishments of akashmir , they saluted the indian national flag were and still are true secularists, believed in humanity ,descendets of a 5000 year culture, a community with 100% literacy
One fine morning in 19 jan 1990 , asked to leave their homes , an audio tape was played from all the mosques after which thousands of muslims came out of the mosques and burned pandits houses and raped their women, in short total anarchy .
Propoganda was done from across the border the then PM Benazir bhutto incited Kashmiri Pandits : the people of Kashmir do not fear death because they are MUSLIMS , as they have blood of GAZI and mujaheeds , they know how to fight and every village of Kashmir will cry for azaadi , freedom !
It had realy started in 1989 when Kashmiri Muslims started selectively killing leaders of Kashmiri Pandits.
Victim Testimony :Hot Knife was pierced in my eyes and I lost my eye sight , then they pulled my tongue out and cut it with scissors then they threw me out in the street.
Youths were kidnapped , tortured and their mutilated corpses thrown in the street
My brother was called outside the house , they started beating him he screemed shouted , evryone shut their doors ,bullets were shot 4 in his stomach And the rest 6 on his head ,
Threatening letters were placed on doors , threatening calls in the dark hours of the morning asking them to leave kashmir , :else they will burn their houses

Youngsters were picked up from their houses and strangulated with steel wires. Women were hanged naked on the streets some even burnt alive others branded with hot irons .
My husband was kidnapped : 3 men came to our house at 10 in the morning and took him away , after some time there was a poster posted on our door , that we have killed your husband and thrown his body in jhelum , we havent found his body still.
A newspaper released full page advertisment asking kashmiri pandits to leave kashmri in 2 days
5 men came in a jeep picked up my son , we have still not found his body.

Kashmri pandits protested vehmently ……. AND THE WORLD REMAINED SILENT !
Indian parliament remained silent……
INTELLECTUALS……
SECULARISTS……
HUMAN RIGHT ACTIVISTS…
LEFTISTS…….
RIGHTISTS……

TO SAVE THEIR LIVES AND DIGNITY 3,50,000 Kashmiri Pandits had to leave their homes leaving behind everything they had . Taking refuge in rest of india …secular ?democratic india? What kind of refuge is this Indians regugee in your own country ?
Pandits thought it would be a temporary phase ..things would get better.

My husbands hands were tied from behind and he was hanged from a tree .
My mother was called outside , when she went out she saw my fathers dead body
The politics in our country is politics of vote bank, 350000 people do not matter to anybody We do not have a single representative in the assemby or ministry so they have discarded us as irrelevant and immaterial

My son had come to perform his mothers last rights at 11 pm he was picked up and killed ,I had to run away with my daughter in law and grand son
They used to do processions, abuse our daughter and humiliate us that is why we had to run away
My husband was kidnaped from his office and his dead body was thrown on road , his body was so riddled with bullets we couldn’t give him his last bath , the whole village saw his dead body
Women suffer living in camps as they have no personal /family life as 3 generations are living under one tent and thus their population is dwindling , also as they don’t have means to survive they don’t want to bring children into thie world.
Time went by even today 3,50,000 Kashmiri Pandits are still languising in camps , WHAT A SHAME
The years have been a harrowing experience for a community which has always been proud for its loyalty and contribution to the growth of this country.
Every single kashmiri pandit is a living example of misery, neglect ,dispair and deprevation.
This is a refugee camp surrounded by a klin where brick are manufactured , the dust from the klin enters the camps : 90% population including childrensuffer from asthama ,
Protests fall on deaf ears … BASIC EMENITIES ARE NOT AVAILABLE.no one is bothered about them ,
Inspite of various offers of co-exsistence Kashmiri Muslims fail to see sense .
But the Kashmiri pandits have not given up faith in their core values they don’t resciprocate fanatism with fanatism .

More than 20,000 Kashmiri pandits died in camps after forced exudus from valley .
Most died if sun stroke as they could not aclamatise to hot climate of rest of india.
Heart attacks due to extreem psycological trauma are also causes of death
An entire community with a distinct culture are facing threat of extinction after loosing their natural habitat.
Terrorism in Kashmir is an ideological struggle with specified political commitments which are COMMUNAL and Fundamentalist in nature
Terrorists want extermination and subjugation of Hindus because the Hindus and other minorities do not want to seprate from India or be governed by a state which wants to run according to Islam
Kashmiri Pandits have also been at the fore front of struggle against sucession , communlaism and terrorism , hence these people have become the main victims of terrorist violnce.
No terrorist violence can be justified on the ground of Political or ideological motivations.
Terrorist violence of valley is not a’ freedom struggl’e and ‘ethnic clenasing ‘ of kashmiri pandits is the proof
There is no justification of “freedom” which infringes on the freedom of others , there can be no equality which leads to inequality
Leading international human rights organistaion Amnestiy International , Asia watch are yet to take proper note of genocide of Pandits .
Their plight Is yeat to awake the concience of the world
9/11 would not have happened if America had heard our cries , this wouldn’t have happened if america would not have caled Kashmiri terrorists “freedom fighters “
Let us not allow anyone to create terrorists to keep other countries into trouble
Let us not allow anyone to create monster in the first place because someday it will consume you
One can not talk about smoking out Global terrorism and then give a bilion dollars to a country which has redefined terrorism into a deadly art form.
Through this film we would like to appeal to the World community to spare some thought on Kashmiri Pandits ,Fight this menace called terrorism seriously and see to it that we return to our homeland.
